P448: “YOU CAN SURF LATER!” stamped inside SKATE style sneaker

On a recent trip to Sleepy Hollow for some pre-Halloween spooks and Jack O’Lantern Blazing, the thought of wearing sandals seemed fitting considering it was practically t-shirt weather but with a lot of walking to be done, sneakers seemed more appropriate for the days’ events.

And as usual, it’s easy to slip into old school Chuck Taylor’s or Nike’s but decided on the distressed look of P448’s SKATE demi-wedge high-top to add a little boost and some texture to a casual outfit.

We discovered P448 at The Shoe Box in NYC and immediately gravitated to the handcrafted Italian brand’s high tops which were distressed like Golden Goose but under $300. Woo-hoo!  🙂

Not only were we attracted to P448’s soft leathers, which come in a variety of stylish colors, but also for their attention to detail and hand finished distressed outsoles. In addition, SKATE’s inside zipper makes it easy to slip in-and-out of without having to “lace-up.” And a hidden bonus is the 1” demi-wedge heel which adds a little boost in height without compromising comfort or looking clunky. Win-win! Thank you P448!

Although we didn’t do as much walking as expected, here’s how much ground we covered in these demi-wedge sneakers with ease:

  • Walking – 3.1 miles
  • Steps = 8,160

Having visited Sleepy Hollow over the years, we’ve been to the church and cemetery many times but this was the first time we were able to get tickets for The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Tickets sell out quickly, especially for weekend viewings, and now we know why – it’s awesome! There were thousands of carved pumpkins blazing in the night topped off with terrific lighting and a great soundtrack. If you’re in the area and missed out on the blaze, the event runs through the month of November so be sure to check it out.Carved pumpkins light up along railing and porch of mansion at Jack O'Lantern blazeSeveral carved pumpkins in the shape of a circus train light up at the Jack O'Lantern Blaze at Croton on HudsonSeveral pumpkins carved and light up in the shape of the Statue of Liberty at the Jack O'Lantern Blaze at Croton on HudsonGirl in black jeans standing on hay in front of pumpkin patch wearing silver and black P448 high top sneakersGirl wearing black jeans and P448 silver and black high tops standing at pumpkin patch

Well, we’re off to carve some pumpkins so be sure to watch for new styles from P448 here and here ; there’s a cool glitter pair that’s caught our eye – perfect for the holidays.

We’ve also rounded up some similar high and low-top styles below.
